38. Collioure - June 2011. Part 2

As I was saying ... we woke up on Monday morning to fog.  At least it wasn't cold fog - it was quite warm, but it rolled down from the Pyrenees and covered the town till lunchtime.

It didn't stop us from scrambling over the old fort though and I got a couple of good photos from the top of the walls.

By lunchtime it was clear again!

This was the view from our hotel window, through the ancient plane trees to the square below where the traffic is either turned back, or in the case of locals and tour buses, allowed limited access to this area only.

So on Monday afternoon we ventured out in search of a laundromat and a hairdresser.  Then disaster struck.  I had my hair cut.  Or I should say, I was foolish enough to allow a woman who claimed to be a hairdresser, and charged me money, to mutilate my hair.     I felt naked and completely devastated and all I wanted to do was hide in the hotel room.

By Tuesday night I had recovered enough to venture out for dinner.

We had a dozen fresh oysters each on the waterfront.  I felt a bit (but just a bit) better.

These people were enjoying a rock band on the waterfront

... and a jazz band in the square ... but I just felt naked and miserable!
