While we were staying in Ste Foy Le Grande, we were invited to join the owners, our hosts for Sunday lunch at a small family restaurant a little way out of town, right on the river.
Our hosts were Alex and Graeme, an English couple living and working in the British Virgin Islands. Alex hosts a very good website for her accommodation called "Les Terraces sur La Dordogne", a business she manages remotely from her home in the British Virgin Islands. She and Graeme plan to retire here in south west France.

We were joined at lunch by a woman named Helen Ranger, also of English background and someone who had travelled extensively all her life. She currently lives in a riad in Morocco and finds accommodation for English speaking visitors in traditional, restored Moroccan medinas.

Not a great website, but Helen seems to be well connected.

I was sorely tempted by the idea of traditional accommodation in Morocco (but with running water and electricity, of course) but I think I'd be going on my own given the political situation in that part of the world. Apparently it gets very, very hot in summer in northern Africa (we are not surprised, are we?) and because it is also Ramadan, the expats all flock to Europe and alcohol for a month.
Lunch was lovely. Grilled eggplant.
Prawns.
Scallops and fois gras.
Alex and Graeme.
Chocolate somethings for the three ladies?
Wrong! It was all for Helen.
Graeme's black Jag convertible makes our tiny Peugeot look huge.
